Polished concrete is simply normal concrete which is honed to a mirror shine. This is accomplished by grinding the surface with progressively finer abrasive discs. It is not just concrete with a shiny top coat of sealer on it.
Polished concrete floors are excellent surfaces which require less maintenance than many other types of flooring. Their high reflectivity provides a brightly lit atmosphere. Because of these characteristics, they are becoming increasingly popular with grocery stores, big box retailers, restaurants, and warehouse facilities.
