Color Hardener – 24 Standard ColorsButterfield Color Perma Cast shake-on Color Hardener is a dry mixture of sand, cement, pigment, and slab conditioning agents. When worked into the top of wet concrete, color hardener not only colors the concrete but also leaves a denser, harder surface. Color hardener can be used to color stamped concrete, and is necessary when installing stenciled concrete. Each 50 lb. pail of color hardener covers approximately 100 square feet. Light colors may cover a bit less (about 80 sq feet per pail). The Concrete Store sells color hardener for $39.75 per pail, except Bluestone, which costs $123.65 due to the pigments used in manufacture. The color chart shows the color hardeners available at The Concrete Store. Before deciding on a color for your project, be sure to look at a manufacturer-printed color chart, as computer monitors cannot capture true colors.
Liquid Integral Coloring - We can match colors from anyone’s color chartButterfield Color Uni-Mix Liquid Integral Color is used to color large volumes of concrete (1 cubic yard or more). It is mixed in the Sagamore Ready Mix central batch plant in Fishers, Indiana. Uni-Mix Liquid can be dispensed directly into Sagamore Ready Mix concrete trucks, or batched into plastic pails for delivery and use by other ready-mix providers. Pricing varies by color. To check pricing for a particular color, please call (317) 570-6252. The color chart shows the standard Butterfield colors, but with our liquid system we can match colors from any manufacturer’s color chart. Before choosing a color for your project, make certain to look at an actual manufacturer-printed color chart, as computer monitors do not accurately portray the true color.
Powdered Integral Coloring – 24 Standard ColorsButterfield Color Uni -Mix powdered pigments are used to color large volumes of concrete. Each large bag of pigment colors one cubic yard of concrete. Uni-Mix Color Packs are small, premeasured packages of Uni-Mix powdered pigment. They are used to color smaller volumes of concrete such as Butterfield Color’s T1000 concrete overlayments and FlatOut concrete countertop mix. Each premeasured Color Pack colors a 50 lb. bag of cementitious material. The Concrete Store at Sagamore Ready Mix stocks only the Uni-Mix Color Packs as shown on the chart. We keep a very limited stock of the large bags of Uni-Mix, but can usually get them with 24 hours prior notice. We don’t stock the powder because we have an on-site liquid color machine, which dispenses liquid pigment directly into Sagamore Ready Mix concrete trucks. To view the Uni-Mix Liquid color chart, click here. We can also batch our liquid pigment into plastic pails for transport to other ready mix companies for use in their concrete. Pricing varies by color. Call (317) 570-6252 for integral color pricing. The color chart shows the colors available in Uni-Mix integral powder. Before deciding on a color for your project, be sure to look at a manufacturer-printed color chart, as computer monitors cannot capture true colors.
Antiquing Release Agent – 16 Colors In StockButterfield Color Perma Cast Antiquing Release is a waterproof powder which serves a dual purpose. It keeps stamping tools from sticking to the concrete slab, and it imparts a secondary or “highlight” color to stamped or stenciled concrete. There are 14 standard colors shown on the chart, although The Concrete Store also stocks Terra Cotta antiquing release and Chestnut antiquing release. In fact, by special order antiquing release is available in every color found on the color hardener chart. Before deciding on a release color for your project, be sure to look at a manufacturer-printed color chart, as computer monitors cannot accurately capture the material’s true color. Each 30 lb. pail of antiquing release covers approximately 1,000 square feet and costs $72.50 at the Concrete Store. Because of the pigments used, Blue Stone release is priced at $147.30.

Acid Stain – 7 Variegated colorsButterfield Color Perma Cast Sierra Stain, (also called acid stain or chemical stain) is a solution of acid and metallic salts. It produces mottled, variegated colors when applied to unsealed, cured concrete. However, acid stain contains no pigment. The color is instead achieved by means of a chemical reaction between the metallic salts in the stain and the minerals present in cured concrete. The reaction actually turns the cement paste a different color without coating it like paint or pigmented concrete stains do. As a result of different cements, mix designs, concrete finishing techniques or curing methods , each concrete surface will take the stain differently. The same bottle of stain may yield remarkably different colors on two different floors. Therefore, if a customer expects the stain to look just like it does on the color chart, he may be in for a rude awakening. There is little an installer can do to control the outcome of an acid stain project. Acid stain simply ”does what it does”. The chart shows the 10 standard colors of acid stain available for purchase at The Concrete Store. Edit: Butterfield Color now offers only 7 colors of acid stain. Stygian, Lichen, and Taupe are no longer available. Before deciding on a color for your project, be sure to look at a manufacturer-printed color chart, as computer monitors cannot capture true colors. Each gallon of acid stain should be mixed 1:1 with water and will thereafter cover 300 square feet. A gallon of Butterfield Color Perma Cast Sierra Stain sells for $56 at The Concrete Store.
Water-based Stain – 18 Colors AvailableButterfield Color Elements water-based concrete stain produces mottled effects similar to acid stain, but offers many more color choices. This is because water-based stain contains pigments, which color the concrete surface instead of relying on a chemical reaction to do so. This chart shows the colors available for purchase at the Concrete Store. Before deciding on a color for your project, be sure to look at a manufacturer-printed color chart, as computer monitors cannot capture true colors. Butterfield Color Elements water based stain is mixed with water to yield a coverage of 200-400 sq ft per mixed 32oz unit. Smaller 4 oz. units are also available and cover approximately 25-50 sq ft when mixed with water. 32 oz units sell for $60.20, while the 4oz size sells for $8.05.
